Ghoram, Warwick et Mendoza, membres de Thin Lizzy, décident en décembre 2012 de se réunir sous le nom de Black Star Riders et de composer du nouveau matériel. On peut considérer que ce groupe est un nouveau pas dans l'évolution de l'histoire de Thin Lizzy qui n'avait sorti aucun album depuis 1983 et son Thunder and Lightning.
