Switzerland isn't just Gotthard and Krokus. Switzerland is also Shakra. Twenty-three years of existence and ten albums. Three years after the average "Snakes & Ladders", will this vintage be a good one?

Shakra is often compared to the unmistakable Gotthard, less to Krokus. But on this "Mad World", the Helvetians have raised the tone. The riffs are more hard rock 'n' roll than hard FM. By the way, "Mad World" is the title of the single from the album "Rock The Block" by Krokus (2003)... coincidence? Despite everything, the addictive melodies are not left out; the success is not obvious on all the tracks, but quite often they hit the bull's eye.

So, get ready to shake your head with the quintet a few well catchy scores like 'A Roll Of The Dice', the formidable 'Thousand Kings', the galvanizing 'When It All Falls Down' and the attractive 'Turn The Light On' that reminds without hesitation of Scorpions. The dynamism and energy developed on all the tracks will inevitably make you tap your feet, even on the other tracks that are less likely to transport you. All the riffs are designed to make you beat the beat, and Fox's voice will convince you to sing along every time, particularly on the only ballad, a 'New Tomorrow', close to Bonfire's best quiet songs.

Without revolutionizing the small world of hard rock, Shakra offers us with this "Mad World" a nice moment of thundering rock.
