"Dynazty's melodic and modern metal is in line with the current productions of the genre, without revolutionizing it but respecting the codes enough to be effective. To listen to."

Since a very recent album "in the age of time" in 2018, Dynazty has been invited to the table of modern melodic heavy alongside Beast In Black, Battle Beast or Amaranthe. The latter in particular share Nils Molin on vocals, who has been singing solo here for the past dozen years and even today on this seventh album. So, confirmation?

Tampered voice, easy melody, big sound, big riffs, twirling solo and expressive vocals: the ingredients are there from the very first notes of a 'Presence of Mind' that is as expected as it is effective. However, the sequel is not as natural and much less efficient, the fault lies with a frantic rhythmic and unbalanced triptych that follows with convoluted melodies and Molin's tendency to get high pitched, which can upset the listener from the very first listening, even though the addition of growls on 'From the Silence' doesn't erase this disturbing impression.

The power ballad 'Hologram' brings a welcome breath with a singing finally contained and a melodic efficiency found again. And it's the turning point. Because the next part will delight the lover of melodic metal and the bands mentioned above fan, starting with 'Heartless Madness' with its hopping refrain (not very subtle but devilishly efficient). From then on, the keyboards take a bigger place rounding the sound and erasing the clumsy roughness of the beginning. The melodic tunes follow one after the other with 'Threading The Needle', reminiscent of Cyrha's Swedes, the pleasant 'Apex', and then a very addictive 'The Man And The Elements' with its Celtic riff and maidenian solo, not necessarily very original but in the right tone. Finally, a word on the eponymous 'The Dark Delight', with its clone riff of AC/DC's 'Thenderstruck', which ends the album on a mixed note, as its similarity with the untouchable Australians' hit is disturbing, while its immediacy hits the bull's eye on the first listen and on all the following ones.

With no real surprise, apart from the disappointment of the first third of the album, Dynazty offers a successful new album but leaves a taste of unfinished work regarding its strange arrangement. Nevertheless, the production, the efficient interpretation and the propensity of the Scandinavians to deliver catchy melodies will allow all the modern melodic metal fans to have a good time with "The Dark Delight" in the line of what one could expect from it.Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)

ROCK "Mind Machine A New Experience" is a new intergalactic journey which, if it does not innovate in any way the synthetic and electronic sound explorations, is very pleasant to follow.
